The Real Deal Report

A “sale” sticker means nothing if the price never actually dropped. We score every PC part we track against its own real price history — never a store’s inflated “was” price — and report how many are genuinely cheaper than normal right now.

Of the 97 PC parts we have enough history to judge today, only 11.3% are genuinely below their normal price — and 50.5% are priced at or above their typical, no matter what any sticker says.

How we score this

“Typical” is each part’s trimmed-median price over its recent tracked history — the same baseline behind our deal scores. A part counts as a genuine discount only when today’s price is at least 5% below that, and as at/above typical when it’s 2%+ over. Parts without enough history yet are excluded from the percentages. We compare only to a part’s own real prices — never a retailer’s claimed “list” price.
